The LF201 powder by Langqiao Surface Technology Co. (LQ) is aluminum cladded nickel composite powder, known as an important self-adhesive thermal spray coating material used for bondcoat. It is a product similar with Sulzer Metco’s 450NS which produced by Mechanically Clad Process.

Before retirement from Beijing General Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in 1996, Prof. Yongchang Jia, the co-founder of LQ had been engaged in composite powder manufacturing for more than 20 years and developed series of important composite powders such as Ni/5Al, Ni/20Al, Ni/18.5Cr/6Al etc. for bondcoat, and Al/8Si/20BN, Al/7Si/22Graphite, Al/7Si/40Polyester, Ni/15Graphite etc. for abradable coatings. Mechanically Clad Ni/5Al powder had been the most produced powder product at LQ in the past.
